Howell police seek drug store bandit
HOWELL — Police are looking for a bandit who staged a daytime robbery at the Drug Fair in the Aldrich Plaza on Wednesday and then escaped on foot with a bottle of prescription painkillers.
The robber, described as a 20-year-old white man wearing a black T-shirt, blue jeans and a baseball cap, handed a note to a pharmacy clerk demanding a bottle of Roxycodone, police Capt. Steven Dreher said.
After handing the note to the clerk, he lifted his shirt and displayed what appeared to be the butt of a handgun, Dreher said.
Investigators said there were seven customers in the store at the time of the robbery, but no one noticed anything out of the ordinary.
"It happened quietly and quickly," Dreher said. "The suspect then escaped on foot in an unknown direction."
